NEW GRIP WATCHES FEATURING MICKEY MOUSE

Disney x Gucci Grip

In honour of the upcoming Chinese zodiac year of the rat, Gucci has created two new Grip watches showing Mickey Mouse on the dial. The ©Disney character’s eyes are visible in the dark thanks to the use of Luminova. Both timepieces reflect the signature look of the Grip line, with a streamlined silhouette and two windows on the dial indicating the hour and minute.

Gucci Timepieces, one of the most reliable and consistent fashion watch brands, has been designing, developing and manufacturing iconic Gucci watches since the early 1970s.

• Yellow gold PVD case with Mickey Mouse print, 2 windows indicating hour and minute, GG Supreme canvas strap
• To celebrate the Lunar New Year, Disney and Gucci come together for an exclusive collection. With a vintage inspired attitude, the emblematic cartoon character Mickey Mouse stands out against a green background, decorating the dedicated packaging.
• Ronda quartz movement
• Water resistance: 3 ATM (100 feet/30 meters)
• YA157420
• Swiss Made and two year international warranty

The 35mm edition brings together a yellow gold PVD case and a GG Supreme canvas strap, while the 38mm version is crafted in steel with the GG logo engraved on the bracelet.

The Grip watch is inspired by the world of skateboarding. It fits snugly around the wrist, much like how sneakers stick to the grip tape on a skateboard.

Breaking the Glass Ceiling

June Goh, PJM

Managing Director of Wealthy Homes Expert Solutions Sdn Bhd

by Billie Ooi-Ng Lean Gaik

I bulked in large quantities of condos at low prices, restructured the marketing plans and cleared the stocks within a period of time.”

Aprominent face on billboards and magazine covers, June Goh is a force to be reckoned with.  Managing Director of Wealthy Homes Expert Solutions Sdn Bhd, she runs the company with great drive and motivation, resulting in big ticket property deals.

Being an accomplished wife and a devoted mother of three are never easy but Goh does it with panache.  From super mum, she challenged and re-invented herself as an astute real estate entrepreneur.  “Work life balance.  Organisation, focus and productivity are important. Build downtime into your schedule. Drop activities that sap your time or energy.  A little relaxation goes a long way.”

Her Bachelor of Science with Honours is in computing science and information systems, but somehow, she was drawn to the property business. Company slogan ‘June Goh, the Gateway to Property’ rings true for locals and visitors alike, when in search of that dream house.  The Wealthy Homes comprehensive care package takes the client from property inspection and selection, leasing, renovation and interior design to Experience-Penang tours, limousine transfers and MM2H services.  To those entering the property market as an investor, Goh advises, “Use leverage to buy properties.  Line up your financing early. Invest in single-family homes first and turnkey real estate.  Aim to be cash flow positive.  Focus on your ROI and buy what you know.”

Conventionally an all-male bastion, Goh’s trajectory in the business is progressive and result oriented. “I’m thankful as it allows me to work harder and excel when compared to my gentlemen peers.  Determination is everything.  Focus on growth. Think bigger, use the power of dreams and your imagination. Massive action and do what you love. ”

Sincere, warm and friendly, she is well – liked and respected in business and social circles. Her company regularly organises talks and conferences to share critical information about property investment.  “The market may be a little soft now, but it is a cyclical phenomenon. Penang’s property market is supported by the state’s strong economic fundamentals.  I firmly believe in the Penang Chief Minister’s Master Plan 2030, especially in the upgrading of transportation and infrastructure, the green and sustainable projects. ”

Her meteoric rise in the property industry is astounding but Goh has more goals to achieve. Her 2020 vision is to break traditional boundaries and go beyond the glass ceiling. What do you hope to achieve in life?  “A developer, probably.  A philanthropist, definitely. ”

The Watch of The Deep

Rolex_2.jpg
Oyster Perpetual Rolex Deepsea

Created in 2008, The Oyster Perpetual Rolex Deepsea exceeds the most exacting demands of professional divers in terms of robustness, precision, reliability, while featuring the aesthetic codes characteristic of the Oyster. Created to challenge extreme depths, it is equipped with a rotatable bezel with a virtually scratchproof 60-minute graduated Cerachrom insert in black ceramic that allows divers to monitor their underwater and decompression time for their safety.

Featuring a 44 mm Oyster case with redesigned lugs and sides, the Oyster Perpetual Rolex Deepsea is waterproof to an astonishing depth of 3,900 metres (12,800 feet) and an additional safety margin of 25%. Each Rolex Deepsea then undergoes a special hyperbaric test developed in conjunction with world-renowned French Company COMEX (Compagnie Maritime d’Expertises).

A Rolex-patented Ringlock System case architecture which allows the watch to resist the colossal pressure is based on a combination of three essential elements: A domed 5.5 mm thick sapphire crystal, a high-performance nitrogen-alloyed steel ring positioned inside the middle case of the watch between the crystal and case back, and a case back in Oystersteel and grade 5 titanium.

The case of the Rolex Deepsea is also equipped with a helium escape valve that allows excess pressure built up inside the watch case to escape during divers’ decompression stages in a hyperbaric chamber. Furthermore, the Rolex Deepsea is equipped with a new generation movement, calibre 3235, which incorporates the Chronergy escapement combining high energy efficiency with great dependability,  and a paramagnetic blue Parachrom hairspring made from an exclusive paramagnetic alloy.

Like all Rolex watches, the Oyster Perpetual Rolex Deepsea is covered by the Superlative Chronometer certification. This exclusive designation testifies that each watch has successfully undergone a series of tests conducted by Rolex in its own laboratories according to its own criteria, which exceed watchmaking norms and standards. The certification applies to the fully assembled watch, after casing the movement, guaranteeing superlative performance on the wrist.

The Rolex Deepsea’s Oyster bracelet is equipped with an Oysterlock safety clasp that prevents accidental opening and a double extension system that allows the watch to be worn comfortably over a diving suit up to 7 mm thick. Using a toothed panel located under the clasp cover, the patented Rolex Glidelock system allows fine adjustment of the bracelet length in approximately 2 mm increments up to around 20 mm, while the Fliplock extension link extends the Rolex Deepsea bracelet by 26 mm.
